ENERGY SYSTEMS. COMMUNITY. LEARNING. IMPACT.
Engineering energy systems with communities, not simply for communities.
CyberEnergy Commons connects engineering, systems thinking, community knowledge and evidence to develop resilient community-energy solutions.
Energy is more than infrastructure
Community energy systems connect technology with users, governance, maintenance, livelihoods, learning and long-term sustainability. Our work studies those relationships as part of the engineering system itself.
Research
Student research, monitoring, systems and cybernetics, data and impact evaluation.
Energy
Solar generation, storage, loads, reliability and energy management.
Community
Local participation, governance, operation, feedback and sustainability.
Productive Use
Cold-chain services, device charging and energy-enabled livelihood opportunities.
FLAGSHIP PROJECT
Gui Community Energy Project
Solar Cold-Chain, Productive Energy and Community Innovation in Gui District, FCT Abuja.
Status: The Gui Community Energy Project was formally launched on 22 September 2026 following successful installation, testing and commissioning. The facility is now supporting community cold-storage and device-charging services while operational monitoring, baseline assessment, data collection and research evaluation continue.
